Surrounded by evergreens and overlooking Puget Sound and Mount Rainier, the Olympia Country and Golf Club offers exciting year-round competition for golfers of all ability. Members enjoy picturesque scenery as they play this 18-hole, par 71 golf course.
Established in 1926 as a nine-hole course, additional property was purchased in 1957 and the course was expanded to 18-holes. A swimming pool was added, and a new pro shop was built. The grounds have been countinually upgraded since that time.
Completely remodeled in 1989, the clubhouse is listed on the National Registry of Historical Buildings.
Famed golfer, Byron Nelson once scored 59 playing our links. Later he returned for a nostalgic visit to the course where he had played such a fantastic game. When asked why he was back, he replied, "It was the only golf course I've shot 59 on!" Bud Ward, many-time state and national amateur winner, got his start on our golf course.
